Security Officials Lighten Up On Carry-On Luggage!
Saturday, May 04, 2002
It's now okay to carry those dangerous tweezers with you when you board an aircraft, along with a few other items previously believed to be life-threating to others! |
I'm all for beefed-up security at the airports. They didn't do it the way I wanted it done, but I've been doing my best to cooperate, even when some of the measures have seemed ridiculous. Even though security doesn't really seem very much better since 9-11!! But confiscating tweezers, nail clippers, nail files, safety razors and eyelash curlers has seemed a tad ludicrous, so I laud the Federal Transportation Security Administration for taking them off the list of banned items in carry-on luggage. Bear in mind that you still need to put the following in your packed luggage: scissors, box cutters, corkscrews, baseball bats, bows and arrows, brass knuckles, bullwhips, cattle prods, golf clubs, hockey sticks, ski poles, straight razors and razor blades not in a cartridge, meat cleavers, large heavy tools like wrenches and pliers, screwdrivers, dog repellent spray, ammunition and toy guns. Needless to say, explosives and guns shouldn't even be taken to the airport. |
